Dr Amro Ali is a writer, public intellectual, and sociologist at the American University in Cairo, and member of the Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His research interests include Arab public spheres, Mediterranean studies, cities, citizenship, exile, technological modernity, and political philosophy. His work can be found at www.amroali.com.
